Stopped by the shop today and got an update on the Alfa.... Looks like I'm going to be out around $4,000... I think this is a sign that I need to find a new job closer to home that I can bike to so I don't have to drive everyday.
The funnest part was seeing the top end of the engine disassembled. Pretty interesting. If I had unlimited funds and another car I'd have the engine rebuilt. But getting a new head gasket, oil rings, valve seals, rebuilt starter, new radiator, and a new fuel pump will keep it running well for a while, even though it may or may not be a bit smokey sometimes...

Interesting. I don't think I've seen the inside of one of these twincams before. Cool construction.
Shame about the money though. If you do it yourself it's a lot cheaper, but it's not a simple DIY job if you're not experienced and/or need the car sharpish.

I would love to tear into a car on my own but lack the knowledge, space, and tools to do so. Plus it doesn't hurt to be surrounded my Ferraris, Lambos, and Alfas everytime I go to the shop haha. I sucks now but it'll be worth it.
